PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

GIGI LEUNG, SCENIC ARTIST
Hong Kong
Gigi Leung - as a scenic artist:
I was born in Canton, China and attended HKAPA, receiving a B.A in art majoring in scenic art in 2014.
Since Childhood I started learning art and practicing Chinese calligraphy. My graduation project - the two minutes lighting show of theatrical gauze painting of the Drunken Beauties and calligraphy piece, has it’s root deeply in Chinese art as part of my growing experience.
Proudly to present I was able to attend the best performing art school in Asia, the HKAPA, which gave me all the professional academic training of being a scenic artist during my four-years study there. Here I would like to express my sincerely thank you for two of my academic mentors in HKAPA - Jimmy Keung (Learn More) and Michael Betts (Learn More) - both of two are professional scenic artists in the industry.
After graduation from academy I work mainly as a scenic artist and project coordinator, by focusing on a series of scenic touch-up projects for Hong Kong Disneyland and Hong Kong Ocean Park. Which included the theme painting for the Disneyland Explorers Lodge external building in 2017 and a series of large scale oil paintings replica on wall decorated 360 degrees for the Parisian Macau reception lobby.
In 2018 currently, I’m working on the fair-faced concrete remedial work and touch-up painting for the Hong Kong West Kowloon M+ Museum building project.
